Nancy and John are almost at the halfway point, having reached an amazing 708km of the 1700kms from Cape Reinga to Wellington! Their shoes are bush bashed, road, sand and water wrecked, thinning with worn down soles and holes in the upper mesh. They say that they have had long tiring days, some days in the heat, but they are bearing up better than their shoes. Read about their trek and see their amazing photography by following the link below
Today was the last session for the year, which was followed by presentations and breakfast. As usual, the breakfast was a fantastic spread which was supplied by all members. Celina put us through our paces to wake up our bodies and minds and we followed this with a leisurely walk.
Nola won walker of the month – well done Nola!
The Brian Cook trophy went to Elizabeth for her many years of work behind the scenes to keep the club ticking along.
The club raffle was won by Deb, who wasn’t able to be there, but we all wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her in 2017.
Tickets are already on sale for the grand prize of a magnificent hamper, which will be drawn at the Christmas breakfast on Saturday the 17 December. For only $10 per ticket, you could be the lucky person who goes home with this wonderful prize. Be sure to get in early to secure your ticket(s), either at the club or email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org
Or simply purchase your ticket(s) on the day of the breakfast.
