Hi fellow Y Striders members,
Just thought we would share with you our experiences with a locally based company that has a wide range of escorted group walks some of you may be interested in. We have completed two multi-day walks with IO – the Cape to Cape walk down south and the Great Ocean Walk in Victoria. In addition we have recently undertaken a great one day walk at Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary (which forms a corridor between Walyunga and Avon Valley National Parks). These walks have been fantastic and Simon and Emily who operate IO’s and their guides have provided us with great experiences. The organisation of the walks was faultless and they are very professional in their operations.
As they say on their website:
“Adventures in nature without roughing it
Small Group walking tours on Australia’s best trails”
We know many Y Striders are interested in bush walking and seeing many and varied places. The IO walks are supported and involve carrying only day packs with good home cooked food, accommodation and company at the end of each day. So this information may be useful when planning your next adventure. Simon and Emily have agreed to promote Y Striders to their local clientele who may be interested in improving/maintaining fitness levels which is great for the club, so if you are thinking of a walking holiday you may wish to look at what IO offers. We certainly think that you would enjoy a walking experience with them. If you are interested, have a look at their website for information on what they offer. Or better still get on their email list for regular up-dates on what they are up to and what is coming up – you will also get some of Emily’s great recipes which they use on their walks.
Have fun in the great outdoors
Kevin and Pam
