Held in Chris and Marj’s beautiful gardens, this soirée has set the bar for future events. Masquerading as a Wine and Cheese evening, with beautifully presented cheese boards and condiments, plus amazing mystery cheeses that had us guessing, the evening turned into a very special celebration for Elizabeth and Darryl’s Golden Wedding Anniversary, as well as Chris and Kerry B-L’s 60th birthdays. We were entertained by Chris and the Swingle Sisters with their version of “Always a Bridesmaid, Never a Bride”, which was so hilarious it had us laughing until we cried. Their ‘suitable’ bridesmaid’s dresses, ‘expertly’ applied makeup and bouquets of jaded flowers, rivalled those of Miss Havisham in Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations!!!! Master of Ceremonies (Ken) was hilarious; keeping us in stitches for most of the night…..
The very sophisticated and gourmet event is one Y Striders will not forget for a very long time.
