On a warm Sunday morning on November 5th, less than 13 hours after completing the 8km Moonlight walk from Burswood via Victoria Gardens to Burswood, 15 YStriders turned up to Bibra Lake to complete a fun run. This is a free event run by Cockburn council, which involves walking or running 6 kms around a circuit of Bibra Lake. Of the 15 club members involved, 8 people walked, while 7 people ran the circuit. Kerrie Tomlinson came second in the over 55 age group category in a time of 33 minutes and 13 seconds.
This event was a great success not only because of Kerrie’s prize and the number of enthusiastic participants. It was particularly pleasing to see such a high number of walkers turning up to the fun run, showing we are a very active and vibrant club.
We need to thank Deb Ruggiero, our trainer, who prepared us before the start, by a warmup session, encouraged us on and minded our gear while we completed the event.
